As I read the recommended pages in my FieldWorking book I found many important things about interviews. I found that the book described closed questions and open questions in depth and gave many helpful examples of what each question looks and sounds like. I related to the book when it talked about "Asking" and "Listening." I am that person who thinks that the questions are more important. But now, after reading about good interviewing skills I learned that listening is more important and will give me better information to use in my work. My favorite part of the reading was the interview on Jessie the AIDS patient, I found the interview to be helpful and interesting. I like how the interviewer Paul put in what was happing during the time he asked the question, and his thoughts in parentheses. This will be helpful when he goes back to write his paper, it will spark his memory of what was actual going on at the time. Overall I found the reading to be helpful, and I saw many things I will try on my interview at the children center.
I found this website below to be helpful in understanding open and closed ended questions, CLICK ME, and you can view this site.
Great outside source. It really clarifies open and closed questions for those who struggle to understand such concepts. I also found that we shared similarities in what we took to be helpful from the given readings! Good luck on your interviews!
